BACKGROUND
HER2 is a member of the human epidermal growth factor receptor (HER/EGFR/ERBB) tyrosine kinase family. Heterodimer of HER2 with other HER family members stimulate cell proliferation and suppress cell apoptosis via a range of downstream signaling pathways. Amplification or over-expression of HER2 has been demonstrated to play a critical role in the development and progression of many aggresive types of tumors. Recently, the protein has become a key biomarker and leading therapeutic target of breast cancer, lung cancer, and etc. |
