Targocil is used as a bacteriostatic inhibitor of wall teichoic acid (WTA) biosynthesis which can inhibit the growth of methicillin-susceptible S. aureus (MSSA) and methicillin-resistant S. aureus (MRSA) (MIC90s: 2 ?g mL) for both MRSA and MSSA.
