Cell Details

The root sheath is the part that constitutes the hair follicle. It consists of the inner hair root sheath, the outer hair root sheath and the hair bulb. The inner hair root sheath is a sheath directly adjacent to the hair in the long-term hair growth stage. A hard, thick-walled, keratinized tube of the inner hair root sheath that determines the shape of the cross-section during hair growth. The lower part of the inner sheath is three layers: the HUXLEY sheath, the HENLE sheath and the inner hair root sheath. Prior to keratinization of the hair, the inner hair root sheath grows with the hair, and the source is the cells that propagate under the hair follicle. Near the epidermis, the inner root sheath is disengaged from the epidermis and hair follicles. Among them, the outer root sheath is equivalent to the basal layer and the spine cell layer of the epidermis, and is composed of several layers of cells containing no pigment. The outer root sheath cells have stronger proliferative activity than the epidermal cells. In addition, studies have shown that insulin and EGF have a significant role in promoting the proliferation of outer root sheath cells.

Cell Characteristics

1) Cells are derived from human scalp tissue.
2) Cell identification: Cytokeratin-19 (positive fluorescent staining of (CK-19) is positive.
3) The purity of the identified cells is higher than 90%.
4) Does not contain HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi.
5) Cell growth mode: epithelioid cells, adherent culture.

Transportation and Preservation

Depending on the weather conditions and the distance of transportation, the company negotiates with the customer and chooses one of the following methods.

1) 1mL of frozen cell suspension is placed in a 1.8mL cryotube and placed in a foam incubator filled with dry ice for transport; after receiving the cells, thaw the resuscitated cells as soon as possible for culture. If resuscitation is not possible immediately, Cryopreserved cells can be stored at -80°C for 1 month.
2) T-25 culture flask is filled with complete medium and then transported at room temperature. After receiving the cells, please observe the growth state of the cells under a microscope. If the bottle filling rate exceeds 85%, please carry out the subculture immediately. If there are more cells in suspension, allow the flask to stand overnight in the incubator to help the undead suspension cells to reattach.
