Cell Details

The esophagus is the digestive tract between the pharynx and the stomach. The esophageal structure of the mammal is divided into four layers from the inside to the outside: the mucosa, the submucosa, the muscular layer, and the outer membrane. The epithelial cells are mainly in the mucosal layer, and the epithelium is a thick, non-keratinized stratified squamous epithelium, which is resistant to friction and has a protective effect. During the development process, the epithelial cells of the esophagus proliferate, from a single layer to a stratified layer, which narrows the lumen, and even once blocked, and then the lumen reappears. At the junction of the esophagus and the gastric cardia, the stratified squamous epithelium suddenly becomes a single-layered columnar epithelium.

Esophageal injury, resulting in long-term chronic inflammation, ulcers, or chronic irritation of the esophagus, and then esophageal epithelial hyperplasia, and finally lead to cancer. Experiments have shown that diffuse or focal epithelial hyperplasia may be a precancerous lesion of esophageal cancer. In the development of esophageal cancer, epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) is an important biological process for the migration and invasion of epithelial-derived malignant cells, which is beneficial to tumor metastasis.

Cell Characteristics

1) Cells are derived from human normal esophageal tissue.
2) Cell identification: broad-spectrum keratin (PCK) immunofluorescence staining was positive.
3) The purity of the identified cells is higher than 90%.
4) Does not contain HIV-1, HBV, HCV, mycoplasma, bacteria, yeast and fungi.
5) Cell growth mode: epithelioid, polygonal cells, adherent culture.

Transportation and Preservation

Depending on the weather conditions and the distance of transportation, the company negotiates with the customer and chooses one of the following methods.

1) 1mL of frozen cell suspension is placed in a 1.8mL cryotube and placed in a foam incubator filled with dry ice for transport; after receiving the cells, thaw the resuscitated cells as soon as possible for culture. If resuscitation is not possible immediately, Cryopreserved cells can be stored at -80°C for 1 month.
2) T-25 culture flask is filled with complete medium and then transported at room temperature. After receiving the cells, please observe the growth state of the cells under a microscope. If the bottle filling rate exceeds 85%, please carry out the subculture immediately. If there are more cells in suspension, allow the flask to stand overnight in the incubator to help the undead suspension cells to reattach.
